The number of individual dwellings  – or lots –  under strata management sits at around 2,588,000.

NSW, with 775,000 lots is the biggest, followed by Victoria on 750,000.

Then follows Queensland (410,000), WA (285,000), SA (270,000), ACT (46,000), Tasmania (34,000) and NT (18,000), figures show from industry body Strata Community Australia (SCA).

Between 2015 and 2020, greater Sydney will have around 160,000 new strata apartments and townhouses.

Melbourne will complete 182,100 and southeast Queensland 113,600, consultancy MacroPlan Dimasi estimates.
