Stockland has placed first on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for the fifth time.

The index looks at the financial performance of sustainability-driven companies across the world and seeks to provide asset managers with objective benchmarks to manage sustainability portfolios.

Categories assessed include corporate governance, risk management, climate change strategy, environmental management, human capital development and stakeholder engagement.

Mark Steinert, Managing Director and CEO at Stockland, said the company was proud to be recognised for its sustainability practices.

"Having been a member of the DJSI World for the past 12 years, this accolade truly demonstrates our commitment to sustainability leadership,” he said.

"At Stockland we have taken a proactive and holistic approach to sustainability, developing policies and implementing initiatives that have cemented our industry leadership for more than a decade.”
