Spring's last hurrah to go out with a blooming bang: RP Data

Spring’s last hurrah is set to go out with a blooming bang with 3,212 auctions scheduled across the capital cities this week, according to RP Data.

Auction volumes dipped last week to 2,686, down from 2,814 the previous week.

The combined capital city auction clearance rate also dropped last week to 66.9%, down from 67.4%.

At the same time last year, the clearance rate was recorded at 51.3% from 2,119 auctions.

Melbourne’s auction volumes were down last week from 1,270 the previous week to 1,161 last week.

Melbourne’s revised clearance rate also decreased last week to 66.7%, down from 69% the previous week.

At the same time last year Melbourne’s clearance rate was recorded at 58.2% from 988 recorded auctions.

Sydney’s auction volumes also decreased last week, down from 1,099 the previous week to 1,047 last week.

Sydney’s clearance rate dipped slightly from 75.3% the previous week to 74.9% last week.

At the same time last year the clearance rate in Sydney was substantially lower at 50.4% from 737 auctions.

Melbourne is expected to hold 1,494 auctions this week and Sydney is scheduled to host 1,278.
