Snow-making Grollo family list $5 million worth of Mt Buller property
The Grollo family are listing some of their Mt Buller tourism property for October 4 auction.
Auctioneer John Castran estimated the entire auction portfolio could fetch more than $5 million.
There are blocks of land set to sell from from $45,000, one-bedroom apartments starting at $130,000 and two-bedroom apartments from $225,000.
There are 24 properties that have been listed by the Grollo family's Mt Buller Lift Company.
Nine off-mountian vacant blocks at Sawmill Settlement, and 12 one- or two-bedroom apartments in the St Anton complex, will be offer at the lower end of the market. The Kirstie Marshall Homestead is also listed.
There will also be a three-bedroom penthouse at the Chalet Hotel and the luxury chalet The Stables (pictured abov), estimated to be worth $1.1 million, also been listed.
The property family, who've had a presence on the mountain for over four decades, are planning to reinvest some of the money to improve snow-making conditions for skiers.
"We are committed to reinvesting in the mountain. There are still considerable holdings of the Grollo family up there, and they are committed to the mountain," says Grollo Group property director Martin Ansell.
