Skaugum, Wahroonga listed by Halvorsen boatbuilding family
Skaugum, the Wahroonga property owned by the Halvorsen family, has been listed for the first time in seven decades with a price guide of $4.5 million.
The home is named after the royal estate and birthplace of Norwegian Crown Prince Harald.
The stately Georgian-style home sits on 1665 sqm.
Skaugum features three bedrooms and three bathrooms, lounge with music room, a provincial styled kitchen, and formal dining room.
Most of the woodwork, including the timber floors and the grand staircase banister, was made in the Halvorsen boatsheds in 1950.
The family hails from a dynasty of wooden boat makers dating back to 1887, when Halvor Anderson launched his first wooden craft in the south of Norway before settling in Neutral Bay in 1925.
With the couple now spending much of their time in America, the Halvorsen's are selling at December 5 auction
