A timber cabin getaway in the Tallarook ranges has been listed for auction.

It goes to onsite auction on October 6.

The property is at 470 Ennis Road, Tallarook, which is five kilometres off the Hume Freeway.

The property offers a native timber freehold area of 27.5 hectares (68 acres).

On the property there is a single room timber cabin.

It is adjoined by a timber deck and it has its own portable toilet.

There is also a rainwater tank and portable solar system.

The cabin structure was originally built by people with interests in the caravan industry.

The vendors said it is has been a ‘glamping’ destination.

“We have now bought our farm near Hamilton in the western district, so we are now five hours distant, hence we are offering 470 Ennis Road for auction sale,” the vendors said.

Selling agent Bart O’Sullivan of Pat Rice & Hawkins said that the property offers unique lifestyle opportunities.

“This property will be popular as an artist’s retreat, for a hobby builder or handy person, for a family for recreation, or just as it stands as a lifestyler’s retreat,” he said.

“The existing timber cabin will be fine for roughing it at weekends or holidays with many additional building sites where a more permanent home could be built with the Mitchell Shire permits while rainwater tanks and a decent scale solar system would look after the services.

“This is a real one out of the box property with an unrestricted view from the Tallarook Plateau and its escarpment at about 400 metres above the surroundings that really must be experienced.

“I am expecting that auction offers will begin from $200,000.”
