The Bronte trophy home of former Aussie cricketer Shane Watson and wife, sports reporter Lee Furlong, has been bought by the Optus chairman Paul O'Sullivan.

The home was snapped up late last year on delayed settlement terms well before its scheduled auction.

The settlement is imminent on the house which reputedly secured more than $10.5 million having cost $9 million in 2014.

Overlooking Bronte beach, the four level home has ocean views from every floor.

A cabana and heated pool sits in the landscaped gardens on the 440 sqm block.

O'Sullivan has been the chairman of Optus since 2014.

O'Sullivan knows the area well, having had two nearby properties.

Ray White agent Ashley Bierman sold the home in conjunction with Laing + Simmons Double Bay.
