New Zealand opera singer Teddy Tahu Rhodes - the star of South Pacific - is selling his Melbourne city apartment with $1.8 million to $2 million hopes.

Located in Leicester House on Bligh Place, the two-level apartment was only purchased in late 2012 for $1,585,000.

Conveniently located to Melbourne's performance precinct, it features two bedroom, two baths, polished floorboards throughout and an outdoor terrace with a heated swimming pool.

The property also includes high ceilings and an open plan lounge/dining area with an open fireplace.

Rhodes apparantly misses having a backyard, like he previously had in New Zealand.

The apartment was last marketed in June last year before his purchase for $1.7 million to $1.8 million through Dingle Partners.

Rhodes has won several awards including an Aria award, Limelight award and a Helpmann award.

Peter Gray and Tim Wilson of RT Edgar Toorak have the listing.

The median apartment price in the Melbourne CBD is $411,500, according to RP Data.
