The Manly NRL star Daly Cherry-Evans secured $1.65 million for his four bedroom Mermaid Beach investment property, having marketed it with a $1.75 million price guidance.

It wasn't planned as an investment for the Sea Eagles skipper, who bought in Queensland in May 2015 when he had just signed a four year deal with the Gold Coast Titans.

A few days after, he exchanged on the property he backflipped and instead signed an eight year extension keeping him at Brookie.

It became a $1,300 a week rental.

The 1970s beach house, set 250 metres from Nobby Beach, cost $1.45 million.

Now the local paper, the Gold Coast Bulletin reports he might not cut ties with the Gold Coast.

LJ Hooker agent Matt Conduit says he's been talking to Cherry-Evans about reinvesting the money back in Gold Coast.

“The Gold Coast has been holding up quite nicely and he’s aware of that,” he said.
