Rugby league legend and Channel 9 presenter Wally Lewis secured $2.27 million when he recently sold his Birkdale waterfront home.

The 30-time Queensland State of Origin captain bought the four bedroom waterfront property along the Redland coast in Brisbane’s east in 1994.

He paid $275,000 for the property, the same year he’d played his final game for Queensland.

The land alone was valued at $1.15m last year, according to CoreLogic records on the 1,353 sqm block.

Features include pontoon, tennis court, pool and plenty of barbecue space.

The home quickly found a buyer at what was an undisclosed price.

Lewis, who also owns a four-bedroom house in TINGALPA, recently published Wally Lewis My Story.
