A three level Brighton townhouse sold on the weekend at $2.55 million.

But it was not the priciest Melbourne sale as a Richmond townhouse fetched $3,005,000 at Friday auction.

The four bedroom 1A/60 Tanner St, Richmond townhouse was in a contemporary, award winning, architecturally designed inner city project.

It is arranged around a central atrium featuring a pool.

The complex was designed by the Mora family alongside De Campo Architects in 2000.

The developed a contemporary building that houses their art gallery, a townhouse and two studio apartments.

The 75B Cole Street, Brighton listing had been updated by its builder vendor.

The 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom town residence came with a heated pool/spa along with rooftop terrace boasting views of the city skyline.

The townhouse sold through Ross Walker at Buxton Brighton.

There was a development application costing $175,000 approved last year.

It had been last sold at $1.76 million in 2019.

Brighton has been an active market for new developments including Awaken, the latest boutique apartment release from developer Skelton, who recently undertook the Avenue town houses  in Brighton East.

The former Brighton International function centre is being transformed into a 58-home complex named The International.

Lucent Capital's Slate House, a low-rise, three-floor complex with 14 residences, is set for completion later this year.
