With a £2.5 million price tag, Ailsa Craig, an island 10 miles off the Ayrshire Coast, sits halfway between Glasgow and Belfast. Its an island lying in the outer Firth of Clyde, and home to the world's best known Curling Stone Quarry. Knight Frank agent Ran Morgan says it comes with one attractive cottage and three former cottages on its 89 hectares.

Access to Ailsa Craig is possible either by boat or by helicopter.

The name comes from the Gaelic for "fairy rock".The monks of Crossraguel Abbey — a few miles inland — acquired Ailsa Craig in 1404, before it passed to the Kennedy family in the 16th century. They are the current vendors.
