UK Royals "in talks with high-profile builder" for luxury Main Beach apartment project Masthead Ocean Club
The Masthead Ocean Club luxury apartment project in Main Beach, which is being delivered by a member of the UK Royal Family, is in discussions with a high-profile builder who is expected to kick off construction at the end of 2024.
Masthead Ocean Club is the $280 million development that is being led by Banda Property, headed by Princess Beatrice’s husband Edo Mappeli Mozzi. Banda is working in a joint venture with local developer Rory O'Brien.
The project, which promises a "7-star home", sits on a 850 sqm block of land at 3649-3651 Main Beach Parade, away from the beach near Southport Yacht Club.
There will be just 28 apartments on offer, the majority of which will span a full floor and have just under 320 sqm of living space with interiors by Mim Design. Two sub penthouses spanning 655 sqm, created by Banda Design, will span two levels, while the 883 sqm penthouse will have four levels.
The two-level private members club will be located high up in the tower and will feature whisky and champagne bars, an onsite chef, a two-level wellness centre and gym with a spa, sauna and steam rooms, hot and cold plunge pools, comprehensive massage treatments and a yoga studio.
“When the concept of an extraordinary new development on North Main Beach presented itself, it was impossible not to snap up the opportunity to build on what is essentially the last and the best location in the area," Rory O'Brien said.
"We regard it as the last superior development site as it is surrounded by protected national parklands and of course, the beach, so there is no ability going forward, for any further large-scale developments, least of all to 40 storeys per our DA.
“We are in final talks with a very high-profile builder known for exceptional building standards – having regularly worked on the best projects Australia-wide, and we expect to make an announcement in the coming months before construction commences in Q4, 2024.”
Masthead Ocean Club is a short walk from the renowned Marina Mirage precinct nearby with a Yacht Club and Super-yacht Marina, plus high-end boutiques, award-winning seafood restaurants, waterfront bars and gourmet grocers.
