Main Beach’s La Mer penthouse has been sold off the plan to a local couple for $5.99 million.

The two-story penthouse will sit atop the 34-level Main Beach Parade tower. La Mer is a $95m tower planned for the corner of Beulah Lane and Main Beach Parade.

NPA Projects director Andrew Erwin, who is marketing the development, says the buyers were set to transform the original plans.

“The penthouse was created as a three or four-bedroom apartment with a rooftop terrace and plunge pool, however, the owners have had a rooftop pool and deck in the past which they didn’t utilise so instead they have turned the top-level of the apartment into a separate master suite crafted especially for the fitness-focused couple to enjoy,” Erwin said.

“This personalised space features a luxuriously large master bedroom complete with ensuite and walk-in robe along with a gym room, a sitting area, and balcony - all of which capitalise on the showstopping 360-degree views of the ocean, the city, and hinterland beyond.

“The first level of the apartment is dedicated to generous open plan living spaces incorporating an ocean- fronting kitchen and sitting area plus a family room, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a powder room to accommodate their children. The kids are late teens and early 20s and will no doubt love the space and privacy.”

The $100 million La Mer is a joint venture of Anthony Quinn of QNY Group and the Polites Property Group, headed by identical twins Marcus and Alex Polites, grandsons of South Australian property heavyweight the late Con Polites.

Since its June launch 70 per cent of the 29 full-floor apartments, which each span 307sq m, having been sold with an average price per square metre at $10,500.

Designed by Gold Coast architect firm Archidiom, La Mer also comes with shared recreational spaces such as a pool and barbecue area.

Construction is expected to start in late 2021. Stock is now very limited within La Mer with only a handful of 307 sqm three-bedroom apartments remaining.
