Birkdale House, the late 1800s Birkdale cottage of the Queensland interior designer Anna Spiro is under offer.

The five bedroom 27 Roger Street offering was listed through Sarah Hackett of Place Bulimba in August.

Spiro’s house was for sale with the option of buying part, or all, of the furniture.

It sits on a 2,213 sqm block amid landscaped gardens.

Its original heritage features, including decorative breezeways, VJ walls, casement windows, tiled mosaics, polished timber floors, picture rails and ofcourse lofty ceilings.

Large wraparound verandas extend the indoor living spaces outside and towards the pool.

On its listing Ms Spiro told The Courier Mail that living at Birkdale House was like living in the country, despite being a 30-minute drive from the centre of the CBD on Brisbane’s bayside.

Spiro and her husband Brad paid $1.2 million in 2010.

The property falls within Birkdale State School and Wellington Point State High School catchment areas.
