South-east Queensland residential developer TRK Property Group has lodged plans for a two-tower apartment development on a disused site at Indooroopilly.

The group amalgamated the site over two years, with a budget motel to make way for the residential development.

Landing in the heart of Indooroopilly at 140 Central Avenue, TRK’s latest project will comprise 127 apartments across two seven-storey towers, as well as six two-storey terrace homes.

Designed by renowned architects, Rothelowman, the project expects to attract interest from young families and downsizers, with a mix of two and three-bedroom residences on offer at the riverside suburb site.

A subtropical promenade creates a divider between the residential buildings, with the space set to activate the ground plane.

From the curation of the subtropical native landscape, Rothelowman have maintained a focus on connection to nature and openness throughout the entire design of the project.

Operable facades and the design of voids give residents maximum access to natural light and ventilation, while the living areas all connect to generous semi-enclosed outdoor spaces, with the Terrace Home residents benefitting from access to private subtropical native landscapes.

“140 Central Avenue will provide local residents in the highly desirable established suburb of Indooroopilly with an authentic subtropical architecture that connects people with their environment,” Rothelowman said in their architecture plans."

“The now heightened global awareness of the ecological importance for humanity’s relationship with the planet can be addressed holistically through both lifestyle choices and people’s relationship with evolved urban living environments.”

“In this project all aspects of the architecture and interiors are conceived as one and with a humanist agenda. Design strategies are employed in plan and three dimensions to promote connection with nature, natural light, ventilation and sense of space within all apartments."

Crowning the seven-storey tower facing Central Ave will be a residential rooftop space, complete with a pool and landscaped garden.

The development is also set to comprise a gym, sauna, children’s play area and informal work-from-home spaces across the site as well.
