A penthouse apartment in the Hamilton Island complex, Pavillions, has sold for $8.5 million, the highest known sale price of a holiday home apartment over summer.

Selling for the first time in 17 years, the 580 sqm penthouse, is on the doorstep of Hamilton Island Marina, in the exclusive gated complex at 10/1 Airport Drive.

It comes with two wings, located off the central entertaining hub of the kitchen, living and dining area.

To the right is a master suite, complete with his and hers vanities and a freestanding stone bath in the ensuite. The left wing has a further three bedrooms, each with ensuites.

There are two living areas, one that opens to the swimming pool and takes in the views, another currently operating as a games room. There’s also a home office and a wine cellar-style storage room.

Hamilton Island Real Estate agent Lynn Milsom secured the sale of the fully furnished apartment, which came with a marina berth for a 25 metre vessel.

Milsom also secured the recent $3,950,000 sale of a villa at 8/23 Front Street.

The yacht club villa 8 is came with four bedrooms and four bathrooms.
