The Mermaid Beach villa of the champion Olympian swimmer Grant Hackett has found its buyer after after being on the market for just five days. It fetched $2,625,000, according to CoreLogic. Set on the so-called Millionaires’ Row, the three-bedroom duplex villa at 1/100 Hedges Avenue attracted three cash, unconditional offers within about 36 hours. The contemporary home, which spans 331 square metres over four levels, was bought in 2014 for $1.5 million. It had sold at a slightly higher $1.53 million in 2013 and at $1.565m in a rebated sale in 2011. The gold medallist has relocated to Melbourne and have used the Gold Coast property as a holiday home. It was offered as a $1380 a week rental. The home had been scheduled to go to Kollosche Prestige auction on May 30 before being snapped up by a buyer from Toowoomba wanting a holiday home.
