Prime Tarcutta grazing and cattle property traded for first time in seven decades
A grazing and cattle property in the Tarcutta district in the Obernre Valley in south-western New South Wales has traded for the first time in nearly seven decades.
The 609 hectare property currently runs 500 Angus cattle.
It had been in Campbell family ownership since 1948.
The property was originally part of the much larger Belmore Station, initially a sheep enterprise, which changed over the cattle.
There are about 200 cows and their calves and weaners.
A syndicate of farmers from the New South Wales Southern Tablelands bought the property at auction on Friday after Ruralco Wagga Wagga agent Dan O'Brien had expecting bidding from around $1.8 million.
The property is regarded as good grazing or fattening country in a reliable rainfall area.
A three bedroom residence with slow combustion wood heater sits on the parcel.
