Rockmount at Longwood East, the renowned thoroughbred pre-training facility, graced by 2009 Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, 2008 Cox Plate winner Maldivian and 2010 Caulfield Guineas champ Anacheeva, has been listed for sale.

The 65 hectare property in the Strathbogie Ranges, 150 kilometres north east of Melbourne, has been listed by the former accountant Geoff Guest and wife Jill Kewish.

They bought the property in 2006 when it was formerly a component of The Vinery racing and breeding development. Guest was a director at Count Financial.

Rockmount has a unique four wing X shape steel and covered stable block that houses 30 boxes.

There's an undercover horse walker, a 1100 metre straight training track and a six horse Aqua-Ciser, a mechanical water-walker for the exercising of the horses.

A newly built three bedroom, two bathroom home with pool sits on the estate, as does a three bedroom manager's cottage.

Pat Rice & Hawkins agents Matt and Rob Childs are marketing the property.

Geoff and Jill say they will probably relocate to a smaller holding in the local area of Strathbogie Shire.

The name Rockmount originates from the highly visible granite structures that rise from the western slopes of the property.
