The Woollahra Parisian influenced Victorian terrace of retired doctor Andrew Child and his wife Di sold at recent auction.

The three level Nelson Street property last sold in 1986 for $560,000.

The middle level was fronted by triple French doors onto the bedroom balcony. On the third level there were two dormer style attic windows in what was also a bedroom suite with dressing room and ensuite.

It was offered by James Dunn of Richardson & Wrench Double Bay with $2.5 million plus hopes.

It was sold at $2.71 million to an expectant Melbourne couple who were there with buyers' agent Deborah West.

Earlier this year there was a beautiful 1860s sandstone cottage in the heart of Woollahra village with a romantic Parisian style garden courtyard.

The Di Jones marketing for 3 Victoria Avenue was repérer sur, or spot on.

A petite, formal, wisteria covered patio space with a sense of openness, with elements of stonework, neatly trimmed hedges and shrubs, with a symmetrical focal piece. Arbour gates fit the bill. Though not quite a French parterre which originated in 15th-century gardens of the French Renaissance.

It was passed in at $1.8 million, and then sold mid-year at $1.8 million.
