Red Cliff on the Southern Monaro listing to end 180 years family ownership
Red Cliff, the Kater family's 2028 hectare Southern Monaro farm, has been listed for auction.
Its November 8 auction could end nearly 180 years ownership by five generations of the family.
The Campbell family occupancy, of most of the holding, originates back to Captain Ronald Campbell's 1830s holding, Cambalong Station.
There are $3.6 million plus hopes through Stewart Lee at Stewart lee & Co Rural Marketing who says the farm was ideal for breeding, fattening and potential cropping.
It runs both sheep and cattle with stock numbers over the past two decades avering 245 cattle and about 5900 sheep.
The Southern Monaro farm has a fertile mixture of basalt and red loams wuth extensive Cambalong Creek frontage and a reticulated stock watering system.
