There was just the one bid when the luxury 10th floor apartment at 1006/56 Carr Street, Coogee went to recent auction.

And the $3.5 million offer was enough for auctioneer Damien Cooley to secure its sale through Christie's International.

The top floor offering at 56 Carr Street, in the Coogee View complex had three bedrooms, two bathrooms plus double garaging.

There was a gourmet kitchen with beach views.

It last sold at $625,000 in 1995.

The 1995 complex was developed by the Singapore based Prima Holdings Pty Ltd who secured three-bedroom sales at a record $725,000.

There was a three bedroom apartment sale at $2.55 million earlier this year which had first sold at $460,000 in 1995.

Another three bedroom, with 143sqm internal living and double lock up garage on the ninth floor, fetched $4.385 million last June.
