Top Spring's luxury Double Bay apartment development, Ode Double Bay, is set to be anchored by two patron favourites on its completion in late 2025.

They've confirmed Double Bay dining institution Indigo Cafe will be expanding its premises to include a further 300 sqm dining space within Ode, while Glebe's popular Carte has secured a 137 sqm space. Carte owner and chef Bing Liu plans to advance its exclusive modern art and degustation menu experience.

Top Spring Australia Managing Director, Sydney Ma, said Ode residents would benefit from having world-class art and dining on their doorstep.

“Ode is a part of the decade-long renaissance of Double Bay and we are delighted two iconic Sydney restaurants and patron favourites, Indigo and Carte, will make their home on Ode’s ground floor plaza, with a selection of high-end retailers,” Ma said.

“These world-class restaurants will ensure the plaza becomes the village centrepiece.’’

Bing Liu said he is looking forward to launching his signature fine dining and fine arts experience at Ode.

“Carte’s prominent location in this finely designed building will surely inspire me to create exceptional experiences for Ode’s residents and the neighbourhood of Double Bay,’’ Liu said.

“We will continue to provide the indulgent degustation menu we are known for while introducing a la carte choices to expand options for all our guests.

“For the menu, I will continue to follow my intuition by sourcing the very highest quality ingredients to create the best dining experience.’’

Indigo Café proprietor Christian Verges said the move to Ode would be a game changer for his business, providing a premium space to expand its offerings.

“With more space, the move to Ode presents an opportunity to elevate our offering to incorporate a state-of-the-art chargrill stone, allowing use to elevate our culinary experience,” Verges said.

“Indigo is set to become a destination venue designed with a distinct European piazza ambiance. “There’s a feeling in Double Bay, in the next five years the area will become a vibrant heart for dining with unique opportunities to experience an array of fine cuisines. I’m excited to see that happening already with Ode right at the forefront.”

An additional feature of Ode is the exclusive provision for residents to order gourmet cuisine directly to the their apartments.

“We’ve curated some exciting ideas for a quintessential room service option, to create a luxury experience for the discerning residents of Ode,” Verges said.

The ultra-luxury Ode building comprises 15 three and four-bedroom apartments ranging in size from 219 sqm to 311 sqm. The project is under construction by prestige builder Ceerose and scheduled for completion in late 2025.

Managing Director of 1st City Real Estate Group, Brad Caldwell-Eyles, said Ode would be home to a select few and mark a new era of luxury living in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

"Each level boasts only three apartments, and they truly impress with their expansive scale and impeccable finishes,’’ Caldwell-Eyles said.

Located on the prominent corner of Cross Street and Transvaal Avenue in the heart of Double Bay village and opposite the InterContinental Hotel, Ode has been designed by Italian-born architect Luigi Rosselli, renowned for his comfort with curves and asymmetry.

Ode’s remaining three-bedroom apartments with 234 sqm of internal living space start from $9.695 million, while the four-bedroom 306 sqm residences peak at $16.995 million.
