Neutral Bay's transformation into North Shore's bar precinct is continuing.

This time, bar owners Ben Carroll and Hamish Watts have taken a 170 square metre lease for a their new venue SoCal. The property, at 1 Young Street, was formally Swing Box Karaoke . Mr Carroll and Watts already own the popular Bondi Hardware & The Botanist at Kirribilli.

SoCal, which is due to open this month, will have a California-inspired menu.

The lease was negotiated by Tom Doran of Doran Commercial.

Mr Doran said retail vacancy rates had dropped significantly over the last 12 months with both national companies and mum and dads tenants showing confidence in the market.
