Milsons Point sale tops Sydney's weekend apartment results
A $2,535,000 sale of a Milson's Point apartment topped Sydney's last weekend's auction results for apartments.
The apartment at 44/110 Alfred Street, Milsons Point had 150 sqm space with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
It sold through Raine & Horne agent Lorinda Mansfield. Sydney saw a 77 percent syuccess rate from its 294 apartment offerings, according to CoreLogic.
The 7th floor apartment came with a large east-facing balcony overlooking the Harbour. There was tandem parking for "two city sized cars" and a 10 sqm lockable storage room. It had been recently offered as a $1100 a week rental.
The complex's last sale was unit 104/110-116, a one bedroom, one bathroom, which sold for $885,000 in January, having previously sold for $470,000 in 2007.
It was offered by the buyer as a $610 a week rental. It had been a $580 a week rental in 2013. This weekend there were 3,162 capital city homes set to go under the hammer, up by 11% on last week’s 2,838 auctions held.
The volumes were expected to surpass the 3,016 auctions held in early May as the second busiest week of 2021.
But with almost half of all activity in Melbourne - some 1,451 homes - the lockdown timing for Melbourne is far from ideal.
This weekend was shaping up to be the second biggest auction week so far this year, according to CoreLogic.
