An Elizabeth Bay harbourfront apartment topped Sydney's weekend auction results after its $2.66 million sale through R&W.

The two bedroom unit was in the Buena Vista complex of 12 apartments on Elizabeth Bay Crescent.

Its 2019 renovation provided new subfloor, electrical and plumbing, and a boutique European hotel room feel.

It comes with 3m high ceilings; classical details, cornices and panelling. There are marble finishes; custom joinery and European engineered oak floorboards.

It last sold at $330,000 in 2000.

The block's highest revealed price was in 2006 when $2.15 million was secured for an apartment.

Sydney saw a 79 percent success rate for apartments and townhouses while houses sat at 87 percent, according to CoreLogic.

The national figure was 71 percent for apartments and 83 percent for houses across all the capital cities.
