Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is seeking expressions of interest for a commercial land parcel located within its north west Sydney master-planned residential community Akuna Vista, Nirimba Fields. The one hectare Zoned B2 Local Centre development site will provide the estate's retail and community precinct. The land sales in the Akuna Vista development was launched in May 2018. The master plan for the 140-hectare development will eventually comprise of 1,174 residential lots. It is expected to accommodate 3,640 residents. Akuna Vista was previously naval air station, HMAS Nirimba boasting an intersecting set of 3 runways in a triangle formation. The estate includes proposals for a new primary school and major sporting and recreational hub. It recently undertook its eighth release with lot sizes raning between 300 sqm and 513 sqm while land registration for the 110 lots in sales release 5 and 6 are due this month. Civil construction on the 130 lots (Sales Release 8, 9 and 10 on the Master Plan), are planned to commence construction this month. Planning is underway for a new park in Nirimba Fields with the 12-hectare park coming with a hockey facility and the new home for netball in Blacktown. DHA General Manager, Brett Jorgensen advised that Akuna Vista was being developed with regard to contemporary urban design, sustainable urban planning and amenity. ‘These principles ensure that the sales rates have far exceeded forecasts and has placed Akuna Vista as one of the most popular estates in Sydney’s northwest,’ Mr Jorgensen said. Matrix Property Group managing director, Andrew Antonas is taking offers until December 8. Completion is expected by 30 June 2022 following registration of land titles by the Defence Housing Australia, a Government business enterprises, established in 1988 to provide housing and related services to Defence members and their families. It is active in Australian residential housing and investment markets and is one of the largest property managers in Australia, with 18,000 properties under management, worth around $11 billion. Around 13,150 properties are managed on behalf of investors.
