Auctions volumes slightly up: RP Data

The volume of auctions scheduled this week across the capital cities has increased slightly to 1,339 auctions, according to RP Data.

There were a revised 1,131 auctions held last week across the capital cities, up from the previous week of a revised 984 auctions.

The clearance rate dropped nationally to 65.4% last week, from 67.7% the previous week.

At the same time last year, auction volumes were substantially lower at 880 auctions and a clearance rate of 52.1%.

Scheduled auctions in Melbourne are slightly up this week to 593.

Melbourne held a revised 486 auctions last week and 426 the previous week.

Melbourne’s clearance rate was down from 67.9% the previous week to 62.8% last week.

Sydney auctions volumes this week are similar to last week with 421 scheduled.

Sydney held a revised 410 auctions last week and 378 auctions the previous week.

The clearance rate in Sydney was up last week to 79.1% from 77.4% the previous week.

At the same time last year, both Melbourne and Sydney had a clearance rate of 57.6%.

Melbourne volumes last year were much lower at 370 auctions, and Sydney held 311 auctions.
