Four striking towers have just been approved for a coveted site in Sydney's south-western suburb of Alexandria.

Alex Collective, will feature 163 residences, with a dual facade on McEvoy and Lawrence streets. The development is set to be delivered by Alexa Development and Ceerose, with luxury homes starting from $750,000.

“Ceerose has gained an enviable reputation for quality and innovation across our building portfolio. Our respect for the historic fabric of the city is evident in many thoughtfully built developments. Andrew Burns Architecture’s industrial spirited and intuitive design for Alex Collective will ensure our newest project becomes an iconic industrial development in Alexandria, leaving a positive legacy in the suburb.”

Inspired by the location's industrial heritage, architect Andrew Burns has interwoven key characteristics of traditional warehouse design, including saw-tooth rooflines and intricate brickwork. The buildings are joined by sky bridges and feature light wells to encourage plenty of natural sunlight to fill walkways and apartments.

“Alex Collective’s robust buildings will add to Alexandria's industrial character where there is a desire to live in a place that has a sense of place. Inspired by New York style industrial warehouse conversions, individuality is expressed in three distinct forms – the façade, saw-tooth roofs and bridges. Pattern brickwork and metallic cladding further assist in providing rich materiality. The interiors are warm and contemporary with an industrial edge. Their raw textures and natural finishes are timeless, capturing the spirit of the neighbourhood through elegant bay windows.”

A selection of lofts, maisonettes and penthouses will be available for sale, with most homes positioned to be north-facing, with properties on upper levels offering expansive views towards the city skyline, Sydney Park and Alexandria's streetscapes.

On-site amenities will include three ground-floor retail spaces, a magnesium swimming pool as well as gardens and cabana-style seating areas designed by Landscape Architects, Site Image Group.

Sculptural work by public artist Jamie North will be featured at four entry points on the facade and will incorporate the use of native Australian plants.

Colliers International Project Marketing Director, Ian Bennett, commented that Alex Collective poses a fantastic opportunity for buyers to buy into a popular Sydney neighbourhood.

“Alex Collective offers purchasers a unique purchasing opportunity in one of Sydney’s colourful residential areas. We expect buyers to appreciate the superb industrial inspired design, high-quality finishes and open plan spacious designs, most of which have a northerly aspect and top levels enjoy panoramic CBD skyline views. Low interest rates, minimal competition, loan applications becoming easier, a scarcity of good quality buildings and Alex Collective’s heritage precinct will drive strong interest in the project.”
