Artist and author of Jeremyville, Jeremy Andrew, has listed his two-level penthouse in The Rex building at Potts Point for $1.4 million plus.

Located on Macleay Street, the former Rex hotel building was redeveloped in 2005 by BKH architects.

The sky home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a galley kitchen with Miele appliances.

The property boasts four metre high ceilings, a mature-garden terrace with harbour views and exclusive use of the adjacent rooftop area of approximately 70 square metres.

Listing agent Brad Caldwell-Eyles says the exclusive roof area has been of real interest to potential buyers.

“No approvals for its use exist as yet; however we imagine that the buyer will seek to install decking and glass balustrades to make the area an amazing roof garden straight from the current residence.

“It will have awesome views of the city and Elizabeth Bay,” says Caldwell-Eyles.

The penthouse also has use of the building amenities including a pool, sauna and gym.

The Rex is a combined residential and retail complex of 165 apartments over nine levels.

Andrew purchased the property in 2005 for $945,000.

Andrew’s first job was a comic artist for the Sydney Morning Herald, and has since worked with the likes of MTV, Adidas, Diesel, Converse and Reed Space Gallery in New York.

Andrew splits his time between his studio in Bondi Beach Sydney and in Soho New York where his creative and life partner, Megan Mair plan to spend more time.

The property will go to auction on June 25 through Brad Caldwell-Eyles of 1st City Hasemer and Calwell-Eyles Double Bay.
