Two new properties shake up top ten discounted properties this week: SQM

Two new properties have been thrown into the mix of the latest SQM top ten most discounted properties list and have taken out the top two positions.

A three-bedroom, one-bathroom home on South Street Fremantle has taken out the top slot with a large discount of 45%, having only been on the market for 84 days.

The home was originally listed for $1.8 million and following a week-by-week decline, is now listed for $990,000.

WA is now on par with Queensland in terms of the amount of properties in the top ten list and with the highest discounts.

The second most discounted property on the list is a NSW home in Londonderry, with a 44% discount.

The property was originally listed for $2.3 million and 938 days later is asking for $1.29 million. 

The latest SQM report is more of a top nine, as the property in tenth place is not based on the current listing price decline but more so a discount on the last sold price.

The Surfers Paradise property last sold in 2005 for $526,000 and is now listed for $350,000 – a 38% discount.

The SQM discount report has over 1,000 properties in postcode 4217 that have been on the market for over 60 days.

Property Observer recently reported on the Gold Coast’s lengthy time on the market with an average of 225 days spent on the market, according to April data.
