Summer Beach Spotlight: Tide goes out on Peter Holmes a Court's Stanwell Park offering

The redundant Stanwell Park, NSW coastal holiday home of Peter and Divonne Holmes à Court has been sold for $1.9 million.

Its McGrath Thirroul listing agent Amanda Moore had expected $2.1 million-plus bidding when it was auctioned in conjunction with LJ Hooker Helensburgh in early December.

Last traded at $2.1 million in 2008, it is understood to have been bought by a surfwear entreprenuer.

Set about one hour south of Sydney, the four-bedroom oceanfront home at Stanwell Park attracted no bids at its auction.

It comes with Luigi Roselli-designed and council-approved plans for extensive additions.

Due to spending more time in Europe, the Holmes à Court family decided they would not build their dream beach house extension on the 1,568-square-metre Kallaroo Avenue site.
