Former NRL champion Daryl Halligan and wife Linda have bought another Manly apartment, spending $800,000 on a one-bedroom 1970s bolthole just 200 metres from the beach.

The couple also own a two-bedroom penthouse.

Realestate.com.au says the Manly one-bedroom median is $800,000 after 41 sales in the past year. Stone Real Estate agent Eddy Piddington sold the unit.

Halligan, the North Sydney Bears and Bulldogs winger who revolutionised goal kicking by using a plastic tee, was the highest points scorer in NRL history when he retired in 2000 with 2043 points.
