The whisper marketing of the 1904 Centennial Park matrimonial home of Nick and Kathryn Greiner has ended.

It is now being marketed publicly for October 27 auction with the $6 million-plus reported hopes having his and her agents.

Offers over the past few months for the Lang Road, Federation home haven't pleased one or other of the former couple.

The agents are Craig Pontey from Ray White Double Bay and James McCowan at Sotheby's International.

The former reforming Liberal NSW premier and the former Liberal-aligned City of Sydney councillor separated finally last October after an on-off 40-plus years of marriage.

The five bedroom house on 822 square metres was bought in 2002 for $4 million from car dealer Paul Warren who moved a few doors along.

There have been eight sales above $5 million over the years, topped off when the Pagents paid $8.2 million in 2009.

It's possible there is a ninth, although the sale price of the 1901 Federation mansion on 1,000 square metre, Kooytong has yet to be revealed.

Similarly there was the eventual sale last week of 6 Lang Road, which had ambitious $5.5 million hopes.
