Newport on Sydney's northern beaches is set for its biggest sale in a decade, and possibly its highest non-beachfront sale.

Its a luxury clifftop home soaring high over Bungan Head Beach.

The 1965 built home underwent a full scale renovation in 2012 by the local building and design company J.D. Evans.

Set on 930 square metres high on the headland with sweeping views overlooking Bungan Beach, the contemporary beach house has two levels, each with their own private access, and four bedrooms.

A heated infinity edge pool has gun barrel views that stretch as far as Manly.

There's direct access down to the sand.

McGrath Avalon agents James Baker and Lauren Garner have a guide of $8 million to $8.5 million, for its to be traded for the first time in 20 years.

It would become Newport's third most expensive home.

Sally Sims, wife of Pacific Equity Partners founder and managing director Tim Sims, paid $12 million for a beachfront back in 2009.

The suburb record has stood since 2008 when Brook Adcock, who founded private equity firm Adcock Private Equity, spent $14.6 million on the Prince Alfred Parade dress circle over on Pittwater.
