A New Farm home designed by local architect Elizabeth Watson Brown has hit the market.

Built around a decade ago, Watson Brown considered the sub-tropical climate when designing the Lower Bowen Terrace home.

The U-shaped home was built with swathes of floor to ceiling walls of glass, window voids and open doorways.

The ground level open kitchen, living and dining space opens to the rear of the 405 sqm block, to a silver travertine tiled alfresco with a built in barbecue and seating and a second covered deck.

Between the two alfresco spaces is a swimming pool.

Upstairs are the home's three bedrooms, one a master with ensuite and another currently set up as a library.

The home has been listed by Sixty Four Property agent Ivo Kornel.

Watson Brown also designed the home next door. Larger with four bedrooms on 560 sqm, that sold for $2.47 million in 2016.

The tightly held street, just off New Farm Park, only sees a couple of house sales a year.

The street high came in 2017 when a renovated 1910s Queenslander, a HIA Brisbane house of the year winner a few doors down from the Watson Brown-designed pair, sold for $4.8 million.
