Richard Umbers, the managing director at Myer, has bought a modern retreat in Shoreham which is set for its summer holiday's christening following its purchase earlier this year.

Designed by architect John Lochhead, the home is suspended on iron bark posts along side the tree canopy.

It uses natural material and glass to sit in harmony with its leafy surrounds and offers expansive views of the sea, across Honeysuckle Reef to Somers, Phillip and French Island.

Set on 4,500 sqm, the home has six bedrooms, three bathrooms and a number of timber decks. There's also a bocce court.

Kaay & Burton secured the $3.2 million sale.
