Musician Bernard Fanning has found a buyer for his redundant Kingscliff apartment on the NSW far north coast.

Fanning bought the Kingscliff apartment for just under $1.05 million in 2008.

It was rented it out when he relocated to Spain with his family after Powderfinger disbanded.

The property had been scheduled for auction in January before being sold for $950,000 earlier this month at close to LJ Hooker agents Paul McMahon and Caroline Witheriff's $1 million estimation.

The former Powderfinger has been spending time in Byron Bay in a rental retreat in an attempt to find some inspiration for a new album.

The 182 sqm apartment in a block of six has ocean views from its dress circle Marine Parade position. There's a lift up to the third floor in the block with basement parking.
