MIPIM expands into China and Informa Exhibitions buys Australian Home Buyers and Investor Show

Property trade shows are big business.

Reed MIDEM, organiser of MIPIM and MIPIM Asia, now have plans to launch a new event, MIPIM China, in Shanghai in 2014.

Based on the successful MIPIM concept, MIPIM China will be a dedicated exhibition, conference and networking event for real estate professionals interested in the Chinese market.

Reed Exhibitions holds over 500 events in 39 countries - attended annually by six million participants - across 44 industry sectors. It is part of the Reed Elsevier Group plc, a FTSE 100 company.

In Australia, Informa Australia recently acquired the Home Buyer & Property Investor Shows from Event Management International (EMI).

The sale also includes the Trading & Investing Seminars & Expo which has been run over the past six years by Jason Humphris, the founder and chief executive of EMI.

Informa Exhibitions has run international property, trading and investment market events and conferences, including Cityscape in the Middle East, the Real Estate forum and Apartment Investment conferences in North America.

It has been operating in Australia for more than three decades with its local events incoluding The Building & Home Improvement Expo.

The Informa Exhibitions Australia managing director Harvey Stockbridge says he's delighted to add the Home Buyer & Property Investor Show to his existing portfolio of 14 trade shows and exhibitions.

Informa plc was formed in 1998 by the merger of IBC Group plc, an events focused business and publisher LLP (Lloyd’s of London Press).

It is headquartered in Switzerland and listed on the London Stock Exchange.
