The Mermaid Waters home of prominent Australian harpist June Loney has sold for $1.41 million.

The waterfront home cost June, the former principal harpist at Sydney Symphony Orchestra, $320,000 in 1997.

Loney taught at the Sydney Symphony Orchestra from the four bedroom home that offers views overlooking the lake from its 27 metre water frontage.

She said the home gave her inspiration to paint her natural surroundings.

The harpist built the home with two separate wings focusing around a centralised kitchen.

The Sydney born musician, who was awarded an MBE in 1977, died last year at 86 years old.
