A collaboration between some of Australia's leading names in design – Plus Architecture, Mim Design and Jack Merlo – has seen the realisation of McLaren Developments and Pomeroy Pacific's latest residential project, Royal Ascot. Recently we caught up with Dug Pomeroy to learn more about the recently completed development, and some of its stand-out selling points.

Urban.com.au: Where did you draw inspiration for Royal Ascot from?

Dug Pomeroy: Inspired by the traditions of their milieu, these apartments are underscored by a playful, bold originality that while motivated by innovative design, are foremost utterly liveable. As Melbourne continues to evolve and move to the helm as a global lifestyle and culture leader, city fringe suburbs like Ascot Vale find their own communities, becoming microcosms of this gentrification. Therefore, as the city itself continues to blossom, so too does the urban fringe, witnessed in the unprecedented lifestyle hubs communities are now burgeoning.
