McGrath Estate Agents expands to Queensland's Sunshine Coast

McGrath Estate Agents has opened its first regional office on the Sunshine Coast. The Buderim office expands its regional office footprint in south east Queensland to eight.

McGrath has grown its presence rapidly to 54 in Queensland since establishing on the Gold Coast in 2010. The central Sunshine Coast region, including Maroochydore, Mooloolaba, Tanawha and Alexandra Headland, has renowned beaches, rainforest and mountains an hour north of Brisbane. It is home to many attractive properties.

CEO John McGrath says the style and types of properties in the area, and their price points, fit in well with the company’s brand and there are many synergies with its client demographic.

“The Sunshine Coast is a highly attractive area and one of the fastest growing regions in Australia,” he says.

“The development of the Maroochydore Central Business District and the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital at Kawana indicate a high level of infrastructure investment which will boost demand for property and housing in the area.”

The population of the Sunshine Coast is expected to reach half a million within the next 20 years. It is well serviced by schools, universities and tafes, it is popular with families and tree/sea changers, and with retirees seeking an appealing lifestyle.

“The Sunshine Coast has always been on our agenda but we have taken our time to find the right partners who are well established in the area with the depth of knowledge and experience required,” McGrath says.

Co-principals Chris Pace and Damien Michael will run the Buderim franchise. They have worked from McGrath’s Bulimba office since leaving Next Property Group in June.

The Buderim office at 8-10 King Street will provide property management services and mortgage broking through Oxygen Home Loans.
