Psychologist John Aiken, who pairs the Married At First Sight couples, and his wife, interior designer Kelly Swanson-Roe, have taken advantage of the resurgent lower north shore market.

They’ve sold their Willoughby East home for around $2.85 million, just five months after they had it listed for $2.3 million before pulling it from its April auction.

The property was sold by John McManus at McGrath to a buyer who had missed out on a home a few doors along at a recent $2.8 million sale.

The couple’s home has been extensively renovated over the past five years after they paid $1.86 million.

Swanson-Roe oversaw the renovation, modernising the home while keeping its traditional features such as its leadlight windows, high ornate ceilings and picture rails.

It has four bedrooms, and sits in 605 square metres of landscaped gardens, which include an alfresco terrace, firepit, spa and cubby house.

The couple, who met in New Zealand, moved to Sydney about a decade ago, buying in Waterloo. They are yet to find their next home.

Just two of the 13 couples from the sixth season of the Channel 9 reality TV show remain together.

The seventh season will be shot over the next few months.
