Greg Macleod, a London-based expat corporate advisor, has sold two adjoining apartments in Cavendish Hall on the Elizabeth Bay waterfront for $5.5 million.

He had listed the two penthouse apartments atop the exclusive grand classic Georgian building of just 10 at $2.5 million each.

They were offered in either one line or separately.

Side by side, the three bedroom apartments previously had council and strata approval to amalgamate into one large whole-floor penthouse.

There are plans available by acclaimed architect Brian Meyerson to combine the two apartments.

Macleod paid $4,115,000 for the apartments in 2014 from medico Dr Joe Pollak.

Pollak had also bought the apartments in one line in 2009, paying $3.35 million to ABC's Asis Pacific editor Michael Maher and Susan Gray.
