The newly elected Liberal senator Andrew Bragg and his wife Melanie Evans have handsomely traded up in Paddington.

The couple have paid $4,675,000 for their new home which comes with 450 square metre space.

The state of the art home comes with a smart home automation system and cutting-edge technology.

It has five bedrooms across its four levels, as well as a self-contained studio above the two car garage.

The master retreat has a spa bathroom and a balcony.

Phillips Pantzer Donnelley agent Catherine Dixon sold the home.

The Bragg's had tried to sell their more standard sized Paddington terrace earlier this year but failed to find a buyer.

They leased it at around $1,500 a week, having paid $2,125,000 for the four bedroom home in 2013.

This week marked the politician's first speech as senator when he surprised many, suggesting superannuation should be voluntary for low income earners.

His wife, Melanie has been at ING Direct as head of retail banking since early 2017 when she was headhunted from Westpac and before that BT Super for Life.
