Award-winning journalist Lawrie Masterson has sold Lindisfarne, his Mont Albert North home, for $1,084,000.

The 930 square metre property which was heavily marketed by Hocking Stuart as Masterson's home comes with a three-bedroom, one-bathroom 1930s house with classic high ceilings throughout.

Located on the high side of Bundoran Parade, the timber home has retained a lot of features reminiscent of its period including ceiling roses, exposed beams, leadlight panels, picture rails and plate rails.

The house has only had minor work done, namely the restoration of its original Baltic pine floor in all rooms except the kitchen, family room and bathrooms.

A former long-time Hollywood correspondent, and member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, Masterson wanted to downsize after settling back in his native Melbourne more than three years ago.

It was bought for $312,500 in 1994.
