Rondalay, the Gold Coast home of the late entertainer Simone Troy sold at auction last weekend for $2.9 million through Harcourts BMG agent Derek Keen.

There were 10 registered bidders for the Carrara home of the drag performer who passed away in September last year.

The 2700 sqm riverfront property, behind electric wrought iron gates, featured a two-level five bedroom English-style manor with French colonial sash draped windows.

The buyers were from Tasmania.

Troy, who throughout the 1960s, '70s and '80s was one of Sydney's top showgirls, paid $1,175,000 in 2001 when her South Coogee residence sold through Pauline Goodyer.

The Lower Liguria Street waterfront, her Mediterranean-style villa for 25 years, sold for $3.07 million.
