Garth Mathews, founder and joint chief of Securing Parking, Australia's largest car parking business, is set to upgrade homes on the Northern Beaches.

Garth and wife Leni have just settled on a vacant waterfront land parcel in Balgowlah prompting their Mona Vale listing earlier in the year.

The couple have spent $5.1 million on the 1300 sqm Beatty Street plot of land.

The land with views across Manly Cove was sold by Jason Guildea and Jenny Lorello at Guildea Residential Seaforth.

It sold with approved plans for a six bedroom, 580 sqm home.

In March the Mona Vale house went up with $4.5 million to $5 million hopes.

Mathews commissioned Marchese Partners to build the six bed, six bathroom home after paying $2.03 million for the 1190 sqm property in 2005.

Mathews founded Secure Parking in 1979. He recently sold off a majority interest in the company for $227 million.
