John So Jnr snaps up West Melbourne mixed-use terrace offering

The son of Melbourne’s former lord mayor John So, John So Jnr, reportedly spent $2.21 million at weekend auction on two double-storey Victorian terrace houses combined into a single property on William Street in West Melbourne (pictured below).

The combined seven-bedroom ornate Victorian terrace came with mixed-use zoning. Set overlooking William Street gardens, it sold through Hocking Stuart agents Kim Shannon and Trevor Gangem who had $2 million-plus expectations.

The 474-476 William Street land area was 421 square metres. It last sold at $1.6 million in 2008 when bought by Mark Fraser, the chairman of auction house Bonhams.
